Personal Terms Agreed: Manchester United Set to Sign Moroccan Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who is set to join the Red Devils from Fiorentina in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old has been one of the standout performers in Serie A this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 28 appearances for the Viola.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have been following Amrabat for several months and have finally reached an agreement with the player and his agent. The deal is expected to be worth around €30 million, plus add-ons and bonuses. Amrabat will sign a five-year contract with the Premier League giants, earning €5 million per year.

Amrabat is a versatile and dynamic midfielder, who can play as a defensive, central or attacking midfielder. He is known for his work rate, passing range, dribbling skills and defensive awareness. He has also impressed with his leadership qualities, captaining Morocco at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where he led his team to the quarter-finals.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his midfield options, as he looks to challenge for the title next season. He sees Amrabat as a perfect fit for his system, as he can provide cover and competition for the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Fred. Amrabat is also eligible to play in the Champions League, as Fiorentina did not qualify for any European competition this season.

Amrabat will become Manchester United’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The Red Devils are also in advanced talks with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, who is expected to complete his move in the coming days. Solskjaer is confident that with these additions, Manchester United will be able to challenge Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea for the Premier League crown next season.
