Leicester City Secures Signing of Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur

Leicester City has announced the signing of midfielder Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur on a four-year deal. The 26-year-old England international joins the Foxes for a reported fee of £25 million, becoming their third signing of the summer after Patson Daka and Boubakary Soumare.

Winks, who came through the academy at Spurs, made 173 appearances for the London club, scoring three goals and providing 11 assists. He won the League Cup with Spurs in 2015 and reached the Champions League final in 2019. He also has 10 caps for England, scoring once.

Winks said he was delighted to join Leicester City, a club with “great ambition and a fantastic manager”. He added: “I’m looking forward to playing in front of the amazing fans at the King Power Stadium and helping the team achieve their goals. I want to thank everyone at Tottenham for their support and I wish them all the best for the future.”

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers said he was thrilled to welcome Winks to the club, describing him as “a talented and intelligent player with a lot of quality and potential”. He said: “He has a great range of passing, he can dictate the tempo of the game and he is also very good at breaking up play. He will add more depth and competition to our midfield and I’m confident he will fit in well with our style of play and our philosophy.”

Winks will wear the number 8 shirt for Leicester City and could make his debut in their opening Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 14.
